The way my jaw dropped. I was stunned. STUNNED.
It’s just that this one line really speaks volumes to how dehumanized the Winter Soldier was
100% agree. I know all the nicknames in the episode were supposed to be funny (mainly the silent but deadly one that Hank did). But even in the first battle they just call him “Killer”. Also there’s also the joking about the fact that he can actually speak the one time he does infront of the group (that of course it’s about murder). As I said before I KNOW these were written as jokes but it really cements it in for me that not only has Bucky been dehumanized in his own eyes but how he’s also been dehumanized to other people to be seen as basically just an object/weapon. With only Peggy and Howard actually using his name (since they are the only ones who know it) it’s just super sad all around.
