Dominant Thor

Sometimes Loki likes Thor to be in control, possessive and dominant.

Thor is only too happy to take Loki firmly in hand and show him who's boss.

And then afterwards to tell Loki to put that silver tongue to good use.

Control

Who should really be scared of whom? Thor is physically strong and dominant but Loki is cunning and devious.

Control
by Halsey (excerpt)

I'm bigger than my body
I'm colder than this home
I'm meaner than my demons
I'm bigger than these bones

And all the kids cried out,
"Please stop, you're scaring me"
I can't help this awful energy
Goddamn right, you should be scared of me
Who is in control?

The Angst of Duality

Because Thor and Loki are dual opposites of each other, their relationship reflects their turbulent and contradictory set of characteristics. They are simultaneously friends/enemies, brothers/rivals, lovers/abusers.

They who are blinded by each other can also be blind to everything except each other.

Thor and Loki are inextricably bound to one another by fate and destiny. This is their glory and their tragedy. "I've told a million lies but now I tell a single truth / There's you in everything I do."

Thor Defends Steve's Honour

Of course, he's had a few and that damn Wolverine annoys him at the best of times . . . .

Clearly, Steve is happy just to let Thor handle the situation.

When Brother Meets Sister . . .

I'm sure not a single Thunderfrost shipper was shocked by the "big reveal" of the secret at the heart of Crimson Peak.

But what will happen once "the other brother" learns of the relationship?

Lucille may be a cold, calculating, murderous psycho bitch, but is she a match for Thor?

Doubtful.

Capes of Red and Green

Because red and green are opposites on the colour wheel, the dualism of Thor and Loki is immediately identifiable by their iconic capes.

The Odinson brothers are eternal forces of difference, whether they are engaged in conflict . . .

. . . or in less combative emotions.

And even, once in a while, when they are cooperating with each other.

Avengers 1 (2011),

The very hang and flow of their capes reflect the diametrical opposition of Thor's extroversion and Loki's introversion.
