Buckynat is such a good ship because what if you were both victims and also unwilling perpetrators (which is also part of your victimhood, but a lot of people, including yourself, don’t see it that way), and then comes this one person who does know intimately all the ways you’ve been violated and all that you’ve done, and this person is the one good thing in all of it, and maybe you can’t forgive yourself for all the things that happened, but you can love this one person who is so much like you, that maybe it almost feels like absolution.
