Soulmates

Bucky Barnes was a charming young man. Handsome and full of life, everyone wanted to be his friend. He could have had anyone in Brooklyn.

Yet he chose Stevie Rogers, following the blond kid like a lost puppy.

People would shake their heads, not understanding. "He'll die soon," they said. "It's not a good investment."

Still Bucky didn't listen.

When Steve Rogers took the serum, suddenly everyone began to see what Bucky had known was there all along. They wanted to be Steve's friends, and he could have picked anyone.

Meanwhile, Bucky had seen the worse humanity had to offer, and his charm and smiles were kept small and short and reserved.

And yet, Steve Rogers only wanted Bucky Barnes, and followed him like a lost puppy.
