Review of Falcon & Winter Soldier #4 (2020)

Writer: Derek Landy

Color Artist: Matt Milla

I found this issue kind of dull. The big aerial fight is, quite frankly, ho-hum as a plot device. However, the artwork is very dynamic and well done, as usual. This issue struck me very much as being simply "filler" to move the story along to the Big Finale in the upcoming issue.

Any real character or plot development focuses on Bucky's erstwhile handler, Veronica Eden, mainly to establish her as a completely wacko but ruthless figure. At one point, she accuses Bucky of breaking her heart after a one-night stand. When he immediately says that never happened, she says "Ah, whatever."

Sam and Bucky continue their efforts to turn The Natural away from his uncritical belief in hateful Hydra ideology --

The Big Finale will undoubtedly be a huge and violent showdown between our heroes, The Natural, Veronica Eden and Baron Zemo. And I hope, at the end, Bucky collects Alpine and goes back home to his yoga and meditation practice.
