Review of Falcon & Winter Soldier #2 (2020)

[Marvel: Falcon & Winter Soldier #2 (2020)
Writer: Derek Landy
Penciler: Federico Vicentini
Cover: Daniel Mora]

In keeping with social distancing during this Covid-19 pandemic, I bought a digital copy of the second issue rather than venturing out to the comic store for a hard copy (is the store even still open? I don't know). It's nice to be able to increase the size of the pages and zoom in on details on the computer.

In this issue, Falcon and the Winter Soldier must fight their way through eight train cars full of Hydra assassins who have every weapon and martial arts skill imaginable.

The artwork absolutely rocks! So dynamic, so full of movement and action, so well done!

I must confess that my favourite panel is where an old lady Hydra assassin attacks Bucky and he kicks the dentures right out of her mouth. Politically incorrect, I know, but those dentures flying through the air still make me laugh. If I ever see that artwork on a blog site, I'll post it here.

[Finally, here it is and it's just so terrible, LOL!]

Early in the issue, there's a telling exchange between Falcon and the Winter Soldier after Bucky praises The Punisher for having blown Baron Zemo's head off --

Sam: "You don't want to be
the next Frank Castle --
I know you don't.
That man's a killer,
pure and simple."

Bucky: ". . ."

Sam: "What?"

Bucky: "Nothing.
We should focus on the job."

Clearly, Bucky thinks he's nothing but a killer too, but Sam has more faith in his fundamental humanity.

Who is correct?
