Steve the Artist

Steve had lots of time to practise drawing, being sick in bed so much as a child. Drawing didn't aggravate any of his illnesses, so it was safe for him to do. Plus it was a cheap activity -- all you needed was a pencil and some paper. Both were easy enough to come by during the Depression.
