It was always a struggle to get Thor to study in school. Reading didn't suit his extroverted nature. Loki was the avid student and reader when they were kids, not Thor. He always preferred doing something -- anything -- else.
I love the reading scene from Thor: The Dark World. There's something just so funny about the God of Chaos being the silent, still point of calm while mayhem breaks out all around him in the prison.
Kafka had it wrong. That kind of self-destructive self-torture is not love, it is codependence. What codependence really means is relationship addiction. And Thor has it. Has it bad. As evidence, the following three exhibits are presented for your consideration . . . .
More than Thor just being a fool for love, though, isn't there something kind of self-destructive about his endless capacity for angst, betrayal and heartbreak? Why can't Thor ever seem to get over Loki?
